Areas of focus
My areas of focus include intimate and attachment relationships; depression and anxiety; questions of life’s meaning; and growth concerns involving self-esteem and confidence.
How I work
As an integrative counselor, I use three stages—exploration, insight, and action—while drawing on psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, and cognitive behavioral approaches according to each person’s needs and presenting concerns.
Exploration: I focus on building the counseling relationship. Through open questions, reflections of feeling, and clarification, I help clients identify and express their own experiences and core concerns.
Insight: I invite reflection on emotional reactions, relationship patterns, and inner conflicts, supporting a fuller understanding of oneself and greater self-awareness.
Action: I help turn insight into concrete, achievable behavioral goals and support trying new ways of coping in daily life. Throughout our work, I respect each person’s pace and use the relationship as a foundation for greater resilience and autonomy.
A note from Pengyu
On this journey, you are not alone. Your confusion, anxiety, and hopes deserve to be heard and understood with care. Growth is not about fixing flaws; it is about discovering yourself, accepting the present, and embracing possibility. I hope to walk with you with sincerity and empathy as you find your own light and direction through life’s storms.
